MumTas

2025 Vegan Street Food Brand Refresh & Refine

Two Cultures, One Kitchen

The Brief

MumTas is a Peterborough-based vegan street food brand serving fresh Indian Ugandan fusion food rooted in family heritage. They came to me already trading, with a distinctive logo and a colour palette they had developed themselves, but no cohesive identity that could work across touchpoints. The logo also wasn’t responsive, which limited how far it could stretch.

The brief was to build around what they already had, bringing structure and consistency to the existing foundation while making sure the identity could carry their personality fully: bold, warm, culturally proud, and nothing like the tired green-and-beige stereotype that follows most vegan food brands.

What the studio did

I developed a full responsive logo suite from the existing mark and built out the identity using the brand’s vivid palette of purple, orange, yellow and green in a way that felt intentional and celebratory rather than chaotic. The typography leans into big, confident display type that can shout from a trailer or hold its own on a loyalty card.

I extended the system across food wrapping paper, takeaway packaging, aprons, wall posters, thank-you cards and loyalty cards, with copy woven through every touchpoint that carries the brand’s voice all the way.
